We operate in multicultural, multidisciplinary environments, integrating skills ranging from service and strategic design to interaction, product, spatial, and communication design—alongside insights from economics, architecture, planning, and sociology.

Active in numerous local and international research projects, the Lab also leads postgraduate courses and design studios in service design, product-service-system design, sustainability, spatial design, and local development. Community-centered design is a key lens through which we collaborate with local stakeholders and enable real change.

Our mission is to understand how design can empower people, communities, enterprises, and social actors to activate and manage innovation processes that promote more sustainable, collaborative, and convivial ways of living. Over the past decade, the Lab has helped shape the foundations of strategic and service design as emerging disciplines.
